Description
A Western Electric wall-mounted magneto telephone featuring a quarter-sawn oak case with a slanted writing shelf at the base. The front of the wooden housing is fitted with two black metal bells at the top and a central transmitter mouthpiece attached to a black metal swiveling arm. A gold-toned rectangular metal label is affixed to the face of the unit, reading Western Electric MADE IN U.S.A. in black serif lettering. On the left side of the case, a black receiver hangs from a metal switch hook, joined to the body by a fabric-covered cord. The right side is equipped with a metal hand crank featuring a black handle, used to power the internal generator. The reverse of the case shows a vertical wiring channel, four corner mounting holes, and two black insulated wires extending from the center.
