Description
A pair of multi-layered stitched leather fire helmet shields representing Jefferson Township. The first shield is comprised of black leather and features an arched white leather top rocker with red stitched lettering reading JEFFERSON. The center contains a large white leather number 13 with black contrast stitching, above a bottom white leather rectangular panel with red stitched lettering reading TWP F D. The second shield is constructed of white leather, traditionally signifying an officer rank, and features an arched red leather top rocker with white stitched lettering reading CAPTAIN. The center features a red leather number 3 with black contrast stitching, above a bottom red leather rectangular panel with white stitched lettering reading JEFF TWP. Both shields are finished with heavy perimeter stitching and include four mounting holes. The reverse of each shield is finished in black leather and is fitted with a curved brass-colored metal mounting bracket secured by two rivets. No manufacturer names, stamps, or labels are visible on the leather or the metal hardware. Height: 6 inches.
