Description

This aneroid barometer is housed in a circular mahogany-finished wood case with a brass bezel and glass crystal. The cream-colored dial face is marked Weathermaster at the bottom center and features descriptive weather terms including Stormy, RAIN, Change, FAIR, and Very Dry. A barometric pressure scale is printed along the outer edge, calibrated in inches of mercury. The center of the dial has a circular aperture that reveals the internal aneroid mechanism. The face is marked GERMANY at the base. The instrument is equipped with a black indicator hand and a brass-finished manually adjustable set hand. A brass ring for hanging is attached to the top of the wood case. The lot includes the original blue and white cardboard box and a printed instruction booklet titled Taylor STORMOSCOPE Barometer With UNI/MAG Movement. A yellow adhesive label on the box lid features the Taylor name in a cursive script logo within an oval cartouche, the model number 6202, and patent numbers 3,232,183 and 3,201,600. The lid also bears a partial white adhesive sticker with the number 31180. Case diameter: approximately 5.25 inches. Overall height including ring: approximately 6 inches.
