Description
25x9x12 An antique magneto wall telephone manufactured by The North Electric Co. of Cleveland, Ohio. The cabinet is constructed from quarter-sawn oak and features decorative picture frame molding on the front panel. This manual system is equipped with twin brass ringer bells, a long-arm black metal transmitter, and a black composite receiver resting on a brass hook switch. The unit includes a slanted wooden writing shelf at the base and a metal hand crank on the right side for generating ringing current. A metal manufacturer plate is affixed to the front center and reads The North Electric Co. Cleveland, O., U.S.A. The face of the transmitter is embossed with The North Electric Co. along the top and Cleveland, Ohio along the bottom. A white paper auction tag from Atlee Raber Auctions is attached to the crank handle.
