Description

This lot consists of three hand-painted toleware metal trays of various forms. The first is a rectangular tray with flared sides and two integral cutout handles. It features an olive green ground decorated with a central bouquet of pale blue and white roses and shaded green leaves. The second is a round tray by Nashco Products featuring an ornate pierced lace-cut gallery rim. The metallic gold-toned field is hand-painted with yellow and white roses. The reverse of this tray retains a silver and black foil label which reads: NASHCO PRODUCTS, Hand-Painted, Chip and Alcohol Resistant, ET. NASH CO., N. Y., N. Y., NEW YORK. The third is an oval folk art tray with a bright yellow ground and a naive central motif consisting of a large red heart with radiating lines flanked by stylized dark tulips. Two smaller hearts are painted below the central design, and the names Sallie and Nancy are inscribed in black script at the bottom. All pieces are constructed from stamped sheet metal. 22×16, 17.5, 18.5×15
