Lot 40:
Description
32x14x32 This is an antique child’s push sleigh, also known as a push-along sled or pram-style sled, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The sleigh features a wooden carriage body constructed with a high, rounded back and a curved front splash guard. It is mounted on a pair of metal runners, likely wrought iron or steel, with vertical supports. The sleigh is designed to be pushed by an adult, featuring two long, curved wooden handles connected by a turned wooden crossbar grip. The exterior retains a heavily weathered painted finish, originally in a cream or white color, with traces of decorative yellow pinstriping along the contoured edges. Each side panel is accented with a centered, pierced decorative cutout.
