Description
A multi-volume set of literary classics from The Masterworks Program. Each volume is bound in green textured cloth designed to simulate leather, featuring gilt-stamped decorative scrollwork and lettering on the spines. The collection includes the following works: Joseph Andrews by Henry Fielding, The Red and the Black by Stendhal, Pere Goriot by Honore de Balzac, and Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. The books are housed in a coordinating dark green paper-covered slipcase which features a printed title label on the front panel. Accompanying the set is a separate softcover pamphlet titled Introductions and Pocket Reading Guides to the included works, prepared by Floyd Zulli. The volumes exhibit uniform decorative motifs on the spines with the author and title prominently displayed in gilt.
