Lot 500:
Shiny Brite Vtg Ornaments & Angel Decor
Description
A collection of vintage Mid-Century Modern Christmas decorations and ornaments. The lot features a partial boxed set of small Shiny Brite glass ornaments in gold and silver finishes, housed in its original cardstock box with a red label and manufacturer printing. The box includes a handwritten price of 77 cents in the upper corner. The assortment of loose blown glass ornaments includes a white bulb with a squirrel and oak leaf motif, winter scene bulbs with reindeer, gold-tone bulbs with white mica-flocked leaf patterns, horizontally striped glittered bulbs, white satin-finish silk balls, and a gold-tone acorn-shaped ornament. Also included is a pair of large, gold-painted molded composite or heavy-duty pulp plaques depicting flying angels playing trumpets. Completing the group is a small vintage angel figure with a gold foil dress and wings, pipe-cleaner hands holding a songbook, and a composite head with blonde hair. Several glass ornaments feature the characteristic stamped metal caps common to the Shiny Brite manufacturer.
