Description
75 x 78 An antique American patchwork quilt featuring the Ocean Waves pattern, a classic geometric design composed of numerous half-square triangles. The quilt is entirely hand-pieced and hand-quilted, utilizing a variety of late 19th and early 20th-century cotton fabrics including slate gray and cornflower blue gingham, striped prints, and pale pink calicos set against a cream-colored ground. The central motifs consist of interlocking diamond forms created by the precise arrangement of small triangles. The hand-quilting is executed in a dense diagonal grid and concentric diamond pattern across the solid cream fields. The reverse is finished with a plain off-white cotton fabric, showcasing the uniform hand-stitching throughout.
