Antiques Quilts and Toppers
Lot 71:
Description
64 x 76 This handmade American patchwork quilt is constructed using a Flying Geese variation pattern. The design features blocks of triangular pieced segments made from an assortment of scrap fabrics, including florals, plaids, and solids in various colors. The decorative blocks are set within a solid blue sashing grid punctuated by red square cornerstones. The piece is hand-quilted in a repeating Baptist fan or shell motif, clearly defined against the solid pink-toned backing fabric. The edges are finished with a narrow dark binding.
