Description
56 x 56 A vintage hand-quilted applique quilt featuring the Dresden Plate pattern. The piece is composed of nine circular blocks arranged in a three-by-three grid. Each plate consists of multiple wedge-shaped petals constructed from various scrap fabrics, including florals, ginghams, stripes, and polka dots, finished with a solid orange circular center. The plates are appliqued onto off-white square background blocks using a black machine zig-zag overcast stitch. These blocks are set within a navy blue fabric field and enclosed by a wide purple outer border. The quilt is hand-quilted with white thread. The navy blue sections feature a diamond grid pattern of small X-shaped stitches, while the off-white blocks are quilted in concentric circular patterns. The backing is made of a solid navy blue fabric.
