Description

81 x 85 A mid-20th-century American hand-pieced and hand-quilted patchwork quilt. The textile features the Winding Ways pattern, also known as a Wheel of Fortune variant, characterized by interlocking curved seams. The design is executed in a medallion-style layout with concentric rings of scrappy, multi-print segments separated by a consistent solid orange cotton lattice. The center features a four-patch cross block in shades of blue and green. The various prints used in the piecing include stylized florals, geometric patterns, stripes, and novelty motifs such as ladybugs and strawberries. The quilt is constructed from assorted cotton and cotton-blend fabric scraps on the front with a solid orange cotton backing. It displays hand-pieced curved seams and is hand-quilted throughout in a simple grid pattern. The edges are finished with a hand-turned binding.
