Description
82 x 86 A vintage cotton quilt featuring a hand-appliqued tulip pattern on an off-white ground. The central field is organized with five main blocks arranged in a quincunx pattern, each containing four stylized yellow tulips with green stems and leaves radiating from a central point. A wide border surrounds the central field, decorated with individual upright yellow tulips on stems. The piece is entirely hand-quilted. Central blocks feature a diagonal diamond-grid pattern, while the border area is quilted with vertical straight lines. Applique elements are hand-stitched and finished with outline quilting. Materials include solid yellow, light yellow, and sage green cotton fabrics with an off-white cotton top and backing.
