Description
70 x 78 This hand-pieced and hand-quilted cotton bedcover features twenty blocks of an eight-pointed star variant with central diamonds. The blocks are set within a grid-like sashing composed of red and blue fabric strips. The star blocks utilize a variety of solid and patterned cotton fabrics, including calico and gingham, in a palette of blue, green, yellow, red, and pink. A single block in the lower-right corner is distinct from the others, featuring a black background and a pink and white star. The reverse of the quilt is composed of a light-colored neutral backing fabric with a large, rectangular blue fabric inset in one corner. Hand-quilting is visible throughout the surface in straight and diagonal line patterns.
