Antiques Quilts and Toppers
Lot 379:
Description
68 x 80 This is a mid-to-late 20th-century utilitarian tied comfort, likely dating to the 1970s. The top is constructed from large vertical strips and rectangular patches of various fabrics including polyester knits and cotton-blend prints. Patterns include a large-scale yellow and gold floral print, red with white polka dots, navy and red stripes, a blue and brown stripe, a blue and white micro-check, and a maroon geometric print. One fabric section features a floral pattern in the style of Waverly decorator fabrics from the era. The layers are secured with evenly spaced hand-tied lengths of brown yarn. The reverse side is a single piece of solid lime-green fabric, appearing to be a jersey or lightweight knit material.
