Description
70 x 90 A vintage hand-embroidered and hand-quilted bed quilt made from cotton fabric. The quilt top features a 3×4 grid consisting of twelve white blocks. Each block is centered with a hand-embroidered basket motif in golden-brown thread, filled with multicolored flowers including pansies, starflowers, and tulips, and topped with a pink bow. The blocks are separated by pink cotton sashing with white square cornerstones at each intersection. The piece is finished with a narrow pink fabric binding and a solid white cotton reverse. The quilting is performed by hand throughout, featuring horizontal straight-line patterns on the white blocks, a cable or braided design on the pink sashing, star motifs on the white cornerstones, and a traditional clamshell or arc pattern on the outer pink borders.
