Description
60 x 76 A hand-sewn scrap patchwork quilt top constructed from a diverse assortment of cotton print fabrics. This item consists of the pieced decorative layer only and has not been finished with batting or backing. The arrangement features an irregular, non-repeating patchwork design incorporating various mid-20th-century textiles. Notable patterns include a magenta and white floral stripe, blue fabric with white and orange floral motifs, a white ground with large-scale red and blue floral prints, black and white gingham, and a blue and white concentric circle or bubble pattern. Additional fabrics include brown polka dots, various calico florals, and diagonal stripes. The reverse side reveals exposed hand-stitched seam allowances and loose threads typical of domestic folk-art construction.
