Description
60 x 72 A vintage hand-pieced scrap string quilt featuring a radiating spiderweb or starburst design. The quilt top is constructed from a diverse assortment of mid-century fabric remnants, including floral calicos, geometric prints, stripes, polka dots, and checks. Materials appear to be a combination of cotton, rayon, and early synthetic blends. The narrow fabric strips are sewn onto foundation blocks and hand-quilted to a plain off-white muslin or cotton backing. The backing shows visible hand-stitched quilting lines.
