Description
68 x 84 This is a vintage hand-tied patchwork string quilt featuring a utilitarian scrap-style design. The quilt top consists of 42 square blocks arranged in a 7 by 6 grid. Each block is string-pieced with diagonal fabric strips of varying widths, creating a repeating chevron or diamond-like visual pattern across the surface. The construction utilizes a variety of mid-to-late 20th-century fabrics including synthetic double-knit polyesters, cottons, and blended textiles. Colors include solid red, blue, green, yellow, and purple, interspersed with various floral, striped, and geometric prints. The three layers of the quilt are secured with hand-tied tufts of thread visible at regular intervals throughout the grid. The edges are finished with a simple red fabric binding. The reverse side is covered in a light green and white striped cotton or cotton-blend fabric.
