Description
This is a vintage rectangular two-gallon motor oil can for Green Shield Motor Oil. The lithographed tin container was manufactured by the Quaker State Oil Refining Corporation of Oil City, Pennsylvania. The front and back faces display a prominent green shield logo with GREEN SHIELD in bold lettering and MOTOR OIL positioned below. Above the shield, the can is marked 2 U.S. GALLONS NET. Along the base of the panels, the manufacturer name and location are printed. One side panel contains instructional text regarding the oil’s lubrication properties and specifies it was MADE IN U.S.A. The top of the can features an integrated metal carrying handle and its original threaded metal screw cap. 11.5 inches H x 8.5 inches W x 5.5 inches D.
