Description

This antique syrup pitcher is crafted from opaque white milk glass. The vessel features a bulbous body that tapers toward a cylindrical neck, a single applied handle, and a hinged metal lid. The body is decorated with hand-painted enamel motifs, primarily depicting a pink water lily blossom floating on a stylized blue and green water surface. To the side of the flower are tall, brown reeds or cattails. The painting shows visible brushstrokes, indicating it was applied by hand. The jug is fitted with a hinged metal lid, likely made of pewter or a plated base metal, which includes a thumb lever for opening and an integrated spout on the inner rim to facilitate pouring. No manufacturer marks, stamps, or signatures are visible on either the glass body or the metal hardware. A contemporary orange auction sticker marked #10 is adhered to the side of the body.
