Description
A pressed steel construction toy manufactured by Louis Marx and Co. under the Lumar Contractors brand. This excavator, styled as a power shovel, is constructed of painted pressed steel with four hard black wheels. The cab and bucket are painted grey, while the chassis and boom are painted yellow. The toy features a manually operated boom and bucket system, actuated by a metal knob located on the side of the cab. On both sides of the cab, there is a multi-colored decal featuring a red triangular background with the name LUMAR in yellow, placed above a yellow banner with the word CONTRACTORS in red. At the center of this decal is the circular MAR TOYS logo, which includes the text MADE IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. A large rectangular decal on the rear of the cab reads LUMAR CONTRACTORS in red on a yellow block, with the words Automatic Scoop Power Shovel in black script below. No original packaging is included.
