Description
This object is a portable multi-compartment carrier, identified by market consensus as a Chinese street vendor noodle cart or box, likely dating to the early 20th century. The piece is hand-fabricated from sheet copper with brass components used for hinges, decorative accents, and internal surfaces. The main body is of an elongated octagonal form topped with a rigid overhead carrying handle. It features multiple storage and display levels: a hinged lidded compartment at the top, a central two-tier display section enclosed by glass panes with an internal metal shelf, a main central cabinet accessed by two hinged doors with pierced lucky coin decorative motifs, and a lower base compartment with a hinged access flap. Attached to the exterior are two cylindrical canisters on one side and a rectangular brass oil lantern with glass panels and a small internal burner on the other.
