Lot 291:
Description
A embossed metal advertising door push bar for Bond Bread, an American commercial bread brand prominent in the mid-20th century. The vertical bar is manufactured from a single strip of painted tin or steel with folded side edges for structural reinforcement. The face features vertically oriented embossed lettering including the word FRESH at the top in block capitals, the brand name Bond in a decorative script in the center, and the word BREAD at the bottom in block capitals. Small mounting tabs are located at the top and bottom, each featuring a single pre-drilled hole for installation on a screen door frame. The reverse side exhibits the negative impressions from the embossing process and retains a primary layer of green paint.
