Description
This is an assortment of 19 miniature metal tools and objects, likely produced as promotional novelties, salesman samples, or high-quality collectible miniatures dating from the early to mid-20th century. The collection is primarily constructed from cast iron or steel, with several pieces featuring brass or bronze-toned surface finishes. The assembly includes a variety of tool types: a miniature black-powder style novelty rifle; four shovels and spades of varying blade shapes including flat-blade, round-point, and hand trowels; four axes and hatchets, including one example with remnants of red paint; and three hammers comprising ball-peen, cross-peen, and tack styles. Other implements include a pickaxe, a garden rake, a pair of blacksmith’s tongs or pincers, a hand saw with a distinct handle grip, a bottle opener, a double-headed pick-axe combination tool, a long punch, and a small mounting bracket. The bottle opener features the embossed letters PATD on the handle. These items are solid-cast pieces showing significant detail for their scale.
