Description
This assortment features American agricultural advertising bags from the mid-20th century, primarily constructed of burlap and heavy cotton canvas. The collection includes a one-bushel Muncy-Chief Brand Quality Seed Corn bag from The Hoffman Seed & Grain Co. of Muncy, Pennsylvania. It is made of coarse burlap and features a circular logo with a profile of a Native American chief in a headdress behind an ear of corn, with text indicating open pollinated seed. Also included is a DeKalb Quality Seed Corn bag from the DeKalb Agricultural Association, Inc. of DeKalb, Illinois, featuring the trademark winged ear logo and variety number 628A. The collection contains a 100 lb. Larro Egg Mash poultry feed bag from the Larrowe Division of General Mills, Inc., Detroit, Michigan. This bag is made of heavy cotton or canvas and displays a bold blue and orange target-style design with Farm-tested and Gold Medal Feeds branding. Another bag is a one-bushel Ohio Certified Seed Corn bag from L. F. Kohler Sons of Poland, Ohio, which features a graphic of an ear of corn overlaid on an outline map of Ohio and refers to the Ohio Seed Improvement Association.
