Description
This lot features a collection of two?vintage lanterns from the early to mid-20th century. The first item is a Dietz Vesta railroad lantern constructed with a steel frame and a cobalt blue glass globe. The top cap is embossed with the Dietz Vesta name along with New York and USA. The shoulder of the frame is stamped P & L.E.R.R., identifying it as former property of the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad. The second item is an Adlake Reliable railroad-style lantern featuring a metal frame with a cobalt blue glass globe. The top cap is embossed with Adlake Reliable as well as New York, Phila, and Chicago. The lower rim is stamped with the number 1863. This unit has been modified for electrical use and is equipped with a vintage-style two-prong plug. The third item is a tubular kerosene lantern manufactured by The Woodlight Pty. Ltd. The fount is embossed with No. 505 and the company name. This lantern features a red-painted steel body and a clear glass globe.
