Description

This lot consists of a large mixed-media diorama depicting a 19th-century Victorian railway station, a static model locomotive, and a collection of cast metal figurines. The station building is constructed from wood and resin components, featuring yellow horizontal siding, red trim, and a brown shingled roof. A prominent central cupola with octagonal windows sits atop the roofline. The platform area includes a textured floor with a brick-like pattern. Integrated cast metal signs are attached to the building. One sign displays the text Bickerville Park with <- 3 Miles -> below. Another sign reads New York City with additional directional text. A telegraph office sign is marked Western Union Telegraph Office Inside. The locomotive is a static display model of a 4-4-0 American type steam engine with an attached tender. It is finished in a black, red, and gold color scheme with brass-tone accents on the bell, domes, and headlight. The tender contains a simulated wood load. The engine and tender are mounted on a section of display track with a wooden base. The collection features a group of silver-toned cast metal figurines in a pewter style. Figures include a three-piece musical band, seated passengers, and station workers. Accompanying accessories include a double-headed street lamp, a four-wheeled luggage cart with trunks, milk cans in a crate, and a traveler’s bindle. No manufacturer marks are visible on the pieces.
