Description
17x 13. This promotional advertising item for Red Goose Shoes is a large-scale, double-sided store display figure. It is constructed from papier-mache or a molded composite material with a hand-painted finish. The display features two distinct clown faces on opposite sides: one side depicts a wide, smiling expression with an open mouth, while the reverse side shows a downcast, frowning expression. Both faces are decorated with traditional clown makeup, including large ears, prominent rounded red noses, and arched eyebrows in green and blue. The top of the head features a high, rounded forehead on both sides, which bears the painted red block-letter inscription RED GOOSE SHOES. This type of display was typically used in independent shoe retailers to promote the St. Louis-based children’s footwear brand.
