Description
An antique rustic wooden bucket or tub featuring stave construction. The vessel is formed from vertical wooden slats secured by two oxidized iron hoops, one positioned near the rim and the other near the base. Two rectangular wooden handle lugs, or ears, are mounted to the upper sides of the staves, though the original bail handle is absent. The exterior wood surface shows a heavily weathered and darkened patina with remnants of an old dark-colored wash or paint. The interior displays the raw wooden grain and construction joints. The base consists of a recessed wooden panel. No maker marks, signatures, or labels were identified during inspection.
