Description
This is an extensive collection of ironstone dinnerware and serving pieces in the Country French pattern, identified by pattern number 4453. The pieces are manufactured from white ironstone and decorated with a transfer-printed floral design featuring orange-pink, blue, and yellow flowers with green leaves. Many pieces display a molded, scalloped rim accented by a thin blue border. The set includes dinner plates, salad and dessert plates, shallow soup bowls, and fruit or cereal bowls. Serving items consist of a large lidded tureen, a smaller lidded vegetable dish, oval platters, and a large water pitcher. The tea and coffee components include two lidded pots, various creamers, a lidded sugar bowl, and multiple cups in standard and footed styles with coordinating saucers. Additional table accessories include a lidded butter dish, a shaker, and a graduated four-piece canister set with lids. Most pieces bear a printed backstamp on the underside which includes the text COUNTRY FRENCH IRONSTONE, a square containing a stylized monogram, MADE IN JAPAN, DISHWASHER SAFE, OVEN PROOF, and the pattern number 4453.
