Description
50 inches long. A vintage Cream City flour bin and sifter, manufactured by the Geuder, Paeschke & Frey Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This cylindrical kitchen storage unit is constructed of galvanized metal with a dark lithographed exterior finish. The bin features a removable lid with concentric circular ribbing and two metal bail handles mounted to the sides. It is equipped with an external hand crank featuring a turned wooden handle, which operates an internal star-shaped sifter agitator. A small hinged door is located at the base for accessing the sifted flour. The interior contains the agitator mechanism and includes a separate metal flour scoop. The front of the bin displays white lithographed or stenciled text reading CREAM CITY in an arched font, FLOUR, and BIN & SIFTER, surrounded by daisy-like floral motifs and corner scrollwork.
