Lot 109:
Description
This two-piece ceramic wash pitcher and basin set is crafted from heavy stoneware with a speckled white or oatmeal glaze. The pitcher features a bulbous body decorated on both sides with an embossed bas-relief motif of a turkey with fanned tail feathers, complemented by a flared pouring spout and an ornate, molded handle. The matching basin is a wide, shallow form with a decorative molded shell or leaf pattern around the scalloped rim. The underside of the basin bears an impressed circular mark containing the words OVEN and U.S.A. along with a central emblem, identifying the set as mid-20th century American utility stoneware, attributed to McCoy Pottery.
