Description
This decorative sculpture, produced by Austin Productions Inc., depicts a setter hunting dog in a classic pointing stance with one front paw elevated. The piece is modeled in the 20th-century animalier style, referencing 19th-century French bronze traditions. It is cast from a composite material, likely durastone or a similar plaster-based resin, and finished with a dark brown patinated surface designed to simulate aged bronze with hints of verdigris. The dog is situated on an integral textured landscape base which rests upon a tiered rectangular plinth. The manufacturer mark Austin SCULPTURE is incised into the textured surface of the base. An auction tag is present on the front leg. No scale or ruler is provided in the images.
