Description
An antique Adlake Kero railroad lantern constructed with a metal frame and a protective wire cage housing a red glass globe. The vent cap is embossed with the words ADLAKE and KERO. The shoulder of the lantern is embossed with the initials E. J & E RY, identifying it as equipment for the Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway. The red glass globe also features the embossed mark ADLAKE KERO. The lantern is equipped with a wire bale handle and a perforated ventilation top. A handwritten tag attached to the base identifies the manufacturing date as 1-51.
