Description
This antique bell is constructed of cast copper alloy, likely bronze or brass, and is characteristic of farm or schoolhouse bells from the 19th or early 20th century. The bell features a flared body with simple molded bands at the shoulder and rim. It is topped with an integral flat mounting bracket containing three circular apertures designed for securing it to a yoke or frame. The interior retains a heavy iron clapper with a spherical striking head and a bottom eyelet for a pull cord. A white identification tag is attached to the mounting bracket with string.
