Description
A 19th-century yataghan-style sword bayonet featuring a recurved, single-edged steel blade with a wide fuller. The hilt is constructed with a ribbed brass grip and a steel crossguard. The crossguard incorporates a muzzle ring and a terminal quillon curving toward the blade, ending in a ball finial. The pommel is steel and features a functioning attachment slot and press-button internal spring catch. On the blade ricasso, there is a three-line impressed mark reading WEYERSBERG, KIRSCHBAUM & Cie, SOLINGEN. The steel crossguard is impressed with a small capital H character. On the throat of the scabbard, there is an impressed alphanumeric sequence reading R 0 9 1 6.Measurements/notes: 20.5 in. L.
