Description
A large fixed-blade Bowie knife featuring a clip-point steel blade. The hilt is constructed with a cast brass crossguard with down-turned quillons, a brass ferrule, and a dark carved handle, likely horn or hardwood, featuring ergonomic finger grooves and a flared bird’s-head pommel. The full tang is secured at the butt with a rounded metal peen. The accompanying sheath is made of heavy brown leather with a vertical stitched seam and several leather thong wraps at the throat. There are no maker’s marks, stamps, or signatures visible on the blade or hilt.Measurements/notes: 19.5 in. L.
