Lot 529:
Description
8 inches. Still bank in the form of a figure identified as Uncle Mose. The item is constructed of cast iron and features a two-part casting held together with a single flat-head screw on the lower back. The figure is depicted in a standing posture, holding a black top hat with a white band. He is dressed in a red coat with yellow pocket flaps, a white vest, a yellow bow tie, and yellow-orange trousers. A horizontal coin slot is located on the upper back. While this specific example is unmarked, the design is historically attributed to the A.C. Williams Company or Hubley Manufacturing Company. Vertical casting seams are visible along the sides. A white string auction tag is attached to the securing screw.
