Description
70 x 80 A vintage patchwork scrap quilt featuring sixteen large square blocks arranged in a four-by-four grid. Each block is constructed in a Nine Patch variation or checkerboard pattern using an assortment of mid-20th-century cotton print fabrics, including floral calicos, ginghams, solids, and novelty prints. The blocks are separated by a light blue sashing fabric featuring a novelty print of stylized figures and motifs. The quilt is hand-pieced and hand-quilted throughout in a traditional fan or arc pattern. The backing consists of a single piece of striped cotton fabric in tones of brown, purple, orange, and green.
