Description
An antique American primitive-style wooden dough bowl or trencher of elongated oval form, hand-carved from a single piece of wood. The object features a shallow, scooped interior with visible tool marks and a smooth, hand-finished rim. The exterior demonstrates a rich, aged patina and features a flattened, hand-worked oval section on the base intended for stability. A modern paper auction tag from Mlee Raber Auctions and Middlefield Antiques is affixed to the interior surface. The wood exhibits characteristic grain variations and a darkened color profile from use.
