Lot 308:
Description
This lot features two wooden objects of industrial and domestic utility. The first item is a large triple sheave block, commonly used in block and tackle systems for industrial, agricultural, or maritime lifting. The shell consists of weathered wooden cheeks reinforced with forged iron straps and a heavy swivel hook. It contains three internal iron sheaves or rollers designed to accommodate thick rope. No maker’s marks or patent dates are visible on the wood or iron components. The second item is a shallow, circular turned wooden bowl. It is finished with a warm honey-colored varnish or lacquer and features a flat base with circular marks from the turning process. The bowl is unmarked.
