Description
This is an antique copper tea kettle featuring a hand hammered construction characteristic of the 19th century. The kettle is composed of a two part copper body with a visible horizontal seam around the middle and a dovetail joined base. It features a fixed handle with shaped brass supports and a copper grip. The lid is surmounted by a turned brass finial. The vessel is designed with a traditional gooseneck spout. No maker marks or stamps are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces. This style of utilitarian metalware was common in North American and British households during the mid to late 1800s.
