Description
This collection consists of four antique and vintage copper and brass metalware items, including two tea kettles and two basins, exhibiting styles attributed to late 19th or early 20th-century Swedish and European manufacture. The first tea kettle is constructed of brass with a bulbous body featuring two horizontal incised bands, a short spout, and a turned wood handle on brass supports. The second tea kettle is polished copper with a domed lid topped by a brass finial, a tapered brass spout, and an ebonized turned wood handle, a form frequently attributed to Swedish makers of the period. The larger copper basin features a tapered body, a rolled rim, and two cast brass ring handles secured with copper rivets. The smaller copper pot displays a hammered finish and bulbous form with two rectangular cast brass side handles. Construction techniques include a combination of spun and hammered metal with riveted hardware. No maker marks or hallmarks are visible on the exterior surfaces of the items.
