The front of the pedestal features an embossed metal identification plaque that reads COLUMBIA WEIGHING MACHINE CO. PATENTED NEW YORK. The weighing platform is decorated with an inset mosaic of terracotta, tan, and white hexagonal tiles. The coin intake slot is positioned at the top of the circular head. The reverse of the scale contains a large circular metal access plate with a lock mechanism. One metal key is included, currently secured to the pedestal.
