Description
Dazey No. 20 two-quart glass butter churn manufactured by the Dazey Churn and Manufacturing Company in St. Louis, Missouri. The assembly consists of a clear molded glass jar with a square body and rounded corners, fitted with a metal screw-top lid. The lid supports a cast-iron gearing mechanism operated by a side-mounted crank with a wooden handle. This mechanism drives a central metal shaft connected to a four-blade wooden paddle inside the jar. The lid is equipped with a perforated metal screen vent. The glass jar features embossed text including DAZEY CHURN, NO 20, PATENTED FEB 14 22, DAZEY CHURN and MFG CO, ST LOUIS MO, and MADE IN U S A. The metal frame is cast with the name DAZEY and the model identifier 20B, which also appears on the crank arm. The vent latch is stamped PUSH.
