Description
An antique manual coffee mill, commonly referred to as a box or lap grinder, attributed to the Imperial model by Arcade Manufacturing Co. The main body is constructed of wood with finger-jointed corners and a clear-coated finish. The top hopper and swivel cover are made of cast iron featuring embossed scrollwork decoration. The crank handle is also cast iron, fitted with a turned wooden knob. The lower portion includes a pull-out grounds drawer with a wooden front face and an internal circular metal cup for collection. The grinding mechanism consists of internal metal burrs.
