Description
This 19th-century American salt-glazed stoneware jug features an ovoid or beehive-shaped body, a short rounded collar spout, and a hand-applied strap handle. The vessel is finished with a mottled yellowish-brown salt glaze exhibiting a characteristic orange peel texture. The piece lacks cobalt decoration or visible maker marks. The surface displays various firing imperfections typical of period stoneware production, including iron spots, pockmarks, and minor glaze pitting.
