Description

14 inches in diameter x 7 inches. A large utilitarian earthenware mixing bowl, commonly referred to as yellowware. The vessel is constructed from buff-colored clay and finished with a clear alkaline or lead glaze, resulting in a characteristic warm yellow hue. The bowl features a deep circular form with a wide, rounded rim and a molded ring detail approximately one inch below the top edge. The underside is designed with an unglazed four-part notched or cross foot rim, a functional feature used in traditional kitchen tasks such as bread rising. The interior and exterior surfaces exhibit a dense network of glaze crazing. There are no maker marks, signatures, or country-of-origin stamps visible on the base or body of the piece.
