Description
A silver plated white metal inkstand of Neoclassical design featuring a tiered platform base raised on three foliate-cast scroll feet. The central platform is surmounted by a cast figure of a peacock with detailed plumage, positioned atop a horizontal pen rest. The stand includes two large circular openwork supports for inkwell inserts, each flanked by scroll-form handles with pierced floral and fan motifs. A small, shallow dish for nibs or stamps is situated at the front center of the platform. The vertical sides of the base are decorated with a finely engraved scrolling foliate and floral border. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or country of origin marks are visible on the exterior or underside of the piece.Measurements/notes: 16 in. L x 8 in. H.
